THE JOINT ROLE OF THE STATES OF TURKEY AND THE NETHERLANDS IN THE BAYBAŞIN CASE
While the nauseating crimes committed by the person called Joris Demmink, Under-Secretary of the Dutch Ministry of Justice, are once again on the agenda, the dirty agreements that have caused Uncle Hüseyin to be held as a political hostage for no less than 30 years are also once again coming to light. When the telephone memorandum, the parliamentary questions of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the work of journalist Burhan Kazmalı, the session of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, and Demmink’s police statements are brought together, the full picture of this dirty game emerges.
This agreement made between Turkey and the Netherlands compels us, in order to prevent information pollution, to republish the case files and evidence of Uncle Hüseyin, who was unjustly tried and detained in the Netherlands to cover up the filth of the person called Joris Demmink.
The Telefonica Memo Document
The official document of the Dutch Ministry of Justice, the “TELEFONICA Memo” dated 15 July 1997, records the conversation between Mr. Ruyters and B. Gradussen regarding the return of my uncle’s asylum application. The document contains the following statement:
“The Baybaşin case is being used as a means of pressure to force the Turks to do something for another case.”
This statement is directly connected to the filth of Demmink.

Statement of Witness Police Officer Mehmet Korkmaz
While Demmink was making official visits to Turkey in the 1990s, 12–14-year-old street children, who should have been protected, were abducted from the walls of Topkapı by the protective police of the Turkish terror state and taken to the room of the pervert Demmink at the Akgün Hotel. While this pervert called Demmink was raping the defenseless children, guards were standing watch at the door.

We conveyed this disgrace, together with its documentation, to the Ministry of Justice and to the then Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. We filed criminal complaints twice in Istanbul and once in Diyarbakır. However, the prosecution authorities closed the file stating “no need for investigation.” When attempts were made to continue the file, the then Minister of Justice Cemil Çiçek and other ministers of justice personally intervened to ensure that the investigation was closed.
The following must be asked of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior:
Every day you speak of rights, law, and justice; every day you make statements that “Turkey is a state governed by the rule of law.” Then are these rapes and abominations committed against defenseless children the hallmark of your moral and legal understanding?
These crimes, dishonor, and acts of treachery were used by Turkey as a tool of blackmail against the Netherlands. In return, Hüseyin Baybaşin was sentenced to life imprisonment on fabricated charges that have been proven to be fabricated by impartial international forensic units (fictional telephone recordings).
The Zeynep Cager Interview
This note clearly shows that the element of pressure is the Hüseyin Baybaşin case. Just as Zeynep Cager has shown this document in her interviews, we have been explaining this for years. In those interviews, it is explained how this document is part of an agreement: in exchange for covering up Demmink’s crimes, the Turkish terror state will hold Hüseyin Baybaşin hostage in the Netherlands.

Helsinki Commission Session of 4 October 2012
At the briefing titled “Hearing Victims of Child Sexual Abuse”, the lawyer of Hüseyin Baybaşin, Adele Van der Plas, researcher Klaas Langendoen, and a victim gave testimony. Van der Plas explicitly stated the following:
“Demmink’s crimes in Turkey resulted in the Netherlands, under blackmail, ensuring that Baybaşin was convicted on fabricated charges; the telephone recordings were falsified.”
Langendoen confirmed how the recordings were manipulated by speaking with police officers in Turkey. The Chairman of the Committee, Christopher Smith, asked the following question:
“Was the Dutch government blackmailed?”
The answers given clearly point to “yes.”
A victim also stated that she was sexually abused by Demmink in Amsterdam when she was 15 years old. This session officially documented Demmink’s crimes and their connection to the Baybaşin case. This situation was also included in the letter written by U.S. House of Representatives member Ted Poe to Erdoğan:
“Turkish police brought children to Demmink.”

The Work of Journalist Burhan Kazmalı
The work of journalist Burhan Kazmalı has been the voice of the victims.
Kazmalı investigated Demmink’s rape crimes in Turkey and conducted interviews with victims.

In 2007, in a conversation with him, former Istanbul Police Chief Necdet Menzir used the following statement:
“Demmink came to Turkey under different names between 1995 and 2000 and received police protection. Children were taken from Topkapı and brought to hotels.”
Kazmalı published these victims’ statements; however, in 2012 he was cowardly attacked and found unconscious. This is clearly an attempt to silence the truth. In parliamentary questions, Kazmalı’s reports were treated as a notification, but the investigation was closed on the grounds of the statute of limitations.
In the parliamentary documents, the questions asked by Nusrettin Maçin to the Minister of Justice summarize everything:
• Why is Demmink not extradited?
• What is the relationship between the Baybaşin and Demmink cases?
There is no answer; because there is a cover-up.
The Hague Court requested judicial assistance from Turkey; however, this request was rejected on the pretext of limitation. This is clear proof of the agreement that was made.

In connection with this, the death of prosecutor Murat Gök is also striking.
He was found dead in his home in 2012; “liver failure” was stated as the cause of death. However, Gök was conducting corruption and child abuse operations. Within the scope of Operation Barbaros, he had arrested more than 20 suspects. The timing is, of course, obvious. His successor, Selim Berna Altay, subsequently issued a decision of “no grounds for prosecution.”
When all of this is brought together, the picture is clear:
The perversions of Demmink were committed in Turkey; under blackmail by the Turkish terror state, Dutch authorities conducted unjust proceedings based on fabricated evidence. The telephone recordings are fake, witnesses were threatened, and journalists were attacked.
“In the end, we have been lying here for 30 years due to completely unlawful trials. But to this day I have not bowed my head, because I know that I am right. I have always believed that this oppression will certainly come to an end one day and that the perpetrators will receive their punishment. Because my conviction is strong, my faith is strong, my belief in my Xwedan is strong. My lawyers are noble people. We ask the press to approach these matters in this process with care.”
— Hüseyin Baybaşin
